As a Working Student – Hardware Engineer (m/f/d), you’ll play an integral role in the development of innovative hardware solutions that support our sustainable packaging system. You’ll gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies while contributing to a mission with global impact.
Your areas of responsibility
- Embedded Systems Development: Work with the ESP32 platform to design and develop embedded solutions for IoT-enabled hardware.
- PCB Design: Assist in designing, prototyping, and testing printed circuit boards (PCBs) for new hardware products.
- Component Sourcing: Research and source high-quality components for hardware development while optimizing for cost and availability.
- Prototyping: Build and test prototypes to validate designs and ensure they meet functional requirements.
- Documentation: Create and maintain clear technical documentation for hardware designs and processes.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the tech team to integrate hardware with software platforms and ensure seamless functionality.
- Innovation: Contribute ideas and solutions to improve hardware performance, scalability, and reliability.
Your profile and skills
- Currently enrolled in a degree program in electrical engineering, mechatronics, or a related field.
- Experience with the ESP32 platform and familiarity with embedded systems programming.
- Proficiency in PCB design tools (e.g., Altium Designer, KiCad, or Eagle).
- Knowledge of sourcing electronic components and understanding of supply chain considerations.
- Strong problem-solving skills and an eye for detail.
- Eagerness to learn, adapt, and take on technical challenges.
- Bonus: Experience with IoT systems, sensors, or communication protocols (e.g., Bluetooth, Wi-Fi).
- Bonus: Familiarity with soldering, assembling prototypes, and hands-on hardware testing.
