About the role
We have a new position for a driven and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing finance team. Reporting into our Head of Accounting and Tax you will play a vital role in supporting financial operations across our UK, Germany, US and Canada markets and providing accurate and timely financial information. Our preference is for candidates based in Berlin or London so you can travel to either of our offices as needed. However we are also open to candidates seeking remote working across Germany or the UK.

What you'll do
- Assist with day-to-day accounting tasks, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
- Play an active role in improving our finance processes, helping us to streamline workflows and drive efficiencies.
- Prepare financial reports and assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures.
- Process payroll.
- Support the implementation and ongoing maintenance of our cloud-based ERP system (experience with NetSuite a plus).
- Collaborate with external tax consultants and handle quarterly and annual VAT returns.
- Maintain strong internal controls and ensure adherence to accounting policies and procedures.
- Work collaboratively with the finance team and other departments as needed.
What you'll bring
- A degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Fluency in both English and German (written and spoken) is essential
- Strong German GAAP (HGB) and group accounting experience is essential, knowledge of IFRS in addition to this would be ideal
- Knowledge of German VAT and experience in designing and implementing ERP (NetSuite) process would be highly desirable
- Experience within a digital health or tech scale up environment would be useful
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise confidently across a business
- Strong proficiency with Excel/Google Sheets
